Most of the software came with the electronics setup that I am using, so I have not had to buy much extra. Yes about 1/2 cost of a ready to go model. Your going to want a downdraft table they get real smoky. I have cut up to 3/4" slow but cuts nice. Do a little bit of custom work but mainly for my own fabrication. He cuts pretty thick steel with it and does an amazing job. If you are a YouTube watcher, Keith Fenner of Turn Wright Machine Works has a plasma cam and a down draft table.
